Biostatistics (BiostatSR)
Core Description:
Collaboration and consultation with other Cancer Center investigators in the design, conduct, and analysis of cancer-related clinical, preclinical, laboratory and epidemiologic investigations, and to review proposals for cancer-related clinical investigations within the context of the Clinical Research Review Committee (CRC).Recommend and develop key infrastructure for data storage and management in support of Cancer Center research

Clinical trials, correlative studies, research ethics, and meta-analysis.Areas of Expertise:
NIH, FDA, pharmaceutical companies, Cooperative Groups, journals, National Data Monitoring Committees and Research Information Technology Shared Resource, JHU General Clinical Research Center, SPORES.Services Provided:
- Assist with formulating and developing scientific questions into a feasible and appropriate design to meet study objectives.
- Develop non-standard study designs and novel analysis tools when necessary to achieve study objectives.
- Advise the structure of the research database and interface for data entry and retrieval, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Design, perform, present, and interpret statistical analyses.
- Actively participate in program-wide and study specific meetings.
- Assist with grant and manuscript preparation.
- Mentor postdoctoral research fellows, junior faculty, graduate students, and master level biostatisticians.
