Peng Huang Ph.D.

Research Summary: Dr. Huang's current research is computer-aided cancer early diagnosis using artificial intelligent/pattern recognition and machine learning approach to analyze complex big data coming from medical images. She has developed a set of novel computer-aided lung CT image texture features to quantify a large array of pulmonary conditions such as cancer malignancies, abnormal lung parenchyma affected by COPD and emphysema, pleural disease, and airway associated disorders. Dr. Huang holds a joint appointment at department of oncology (School of Medicine) and department of biostatistics (School of Public Heath). She is the primary biostatistics faculty in cancer imaging. She directs the Biostatistics core of ovarian cancer SPORE and previous founded Resource of the In Vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging Center (ICMIC) and breast cancer SPORE Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core.
